Plastic trash can kill marine organisms like seabirds and turtles through entanglement and ingestion as they often mistake plastics for food. Recent reports showed that five countries, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines, are responsible for 60% of the world's plastic trash in the ocean. Business owners should charge money for providing paper bags instead of freely providing plastic bags. Now the dire state of our ocean and food system is the collective consequence of these ignorant rationales.
